Complete software solutions, built by one person.

I'm Bill, an engineer who takes ownership of the whole thing: the application, the server it runs on, and the deployment that keeps it running. One point of contact, no hand-offs, no “that part wasn't my job.”

What I build

Most freelancers do one slice, and you end up coordinating a front-end person, a back-end person, and someone for the server. I do all of it.

Desktop applications

Windows-first cross-platform apps with Electron — from the interface to auto-updates and installers.

Web applications

Internal tools and web apps from database to UI — Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL.

Cloud infrastructure

VPS setup, Docker deployments, VPN connectivity, HTTPS, backups and monitoring — systems you fully own.

Data pipelines

Data collection, processing and quality control on PostgreSQL — running reliably day after day.

Remote administration

Ongoing operation and support for the systems I deliver, so they keep working quietly for years.

App distribution

iOS via TestFlight and Apple Business Manager, macOS notarization through CI pipelines, PWAs.

Recent work

Client names and details are confidential; these describe the shape of what I deliver.

Production data platform for a business-data company

Linux · PostgreSQL · Python · Docker · VPN · automated backups

A company that delivers data projects to an international client needed its collection, processing and quality-control pipelines run as a dependable production system. I operate the full platform: servers, database, secure remote access, tested backups, and the applications that feed and read the data. It runs daily, and the client owns every part of it.

Cross-platform desktop application for a distributed team

Electron · TypeScript · monorepo · parallel web version

A team of Windows users needed one tool for their daily work. I built the desktop application with Electron and maintain a web version alongside it in a single monorepo, so the same product serves both installed and browser use.

Self-hosted analytics dashboards

Docker · ShinyProxy · VPS · HTTPS

Interactive data dashboards had to be available to users without depending on any third-party cloud. I deployed them behind ShinyProxy in Docker on a VPS, with proper access control — self-hosted, controlled, and cheap to run.

How I work

  1. You describe the problem. In plain words — what should exist that doesn't today.
  2. I propose the solution. What I'll build, on what stack, what it will cost to run, and when it's done.
  3. I build all of it.Application, server, deployment — with clear progress you can see, not status meetings.
  4. You own everything.Accounts, servers, code and data are yours. I hand over documentation, not dependence.
  5. It keeps running.Backups, monitoring and updates — I can operate what I build, or teach your people to.
